Surfest Newcastle 2026
The southern hemisphere’s biggest celebration of surf
Newcastle Surfest 2026
Newcastle’s iconic coastline once again becomes the stage for Newcastle Surfest 2026, presented by Bonsoy, running throughout February and March 2026.
Bringing together more than 800 male and female surfers from around the globe, this is the largest surfing festival in the southern hemisphere. Across nine thrilling events — from the Mutual Bank High School Challenge to the Indigenous Classic — the city will host a spectacular celebration of surf, skill and community spirit.
The festival culminates with the World Surf League Challenger Series from 9–15 March, drawing the world’s top competitors and fans to the shores of Merewether Beach.
